Dr. Herz is a leading expert on the psychological science of smell. Her published books include "Why You Eat What You Eat", "The Scent of Desire” and "That’s Disgusting". She’s written numerous research papers and articles and has been a guest on shows including "On Point" and "Science Friday". Dr. Herz is an adjunct faculty member at Brown University and Boston College and she advises many companies about enhancing consumer experiences.

AACSS - The Australasian Association for ChemoSensory Sciences is dedicated to advancing the development of research concerning taste and smell.
AChemS - The Association for Chemoreception Sciences is dedicated to understanding the "chemical senses" of smell, taste, trigeminal irritation and internal chemoreception from the fundamentals of neurobiology to complex behavior.
E3S - The European Sensory Science Society promotes cooperation, integration of activities and knowledge, and information exchange amongst national sensory science organizations in Europe.
ECCRO -The European Chemoreception Research Organization promotes fundamental and applied research in chemosensory science especially olfaction and taste in vertebrates and invertebrates. ECRO organizes an annual conference.
GCCR - The Global Consortium of Chemosensory Researchers, founded during the pandemic to define and coordinate worldwide crowdsourced research to understand the reports of the chemosensory issues related to COVID-19.
ISOCS - The International Society for Olfaction and Chemical Senses is dedicated to advancing research and the application of olfaction and chemical sensing.
JASTS – The Japanese Organization for the Study of Taste and Smell is dedicated to advancing the development of research concerning taste and smell. They hold annual meetings, and publish the Japanese Journal of Taste and Smell Research.
ROE – The Spanish Olfactory Society is a non-profit Spanish Association dedicated to smell.
SISSA – The Italian Sensory Society is dedicated to advancing sensory research.
WIOS - Women In Olfactory Sciences is a group of female scientists dedicated to bringing together interdisciplinary scientists to celebrate women's contribution to olfactory science and related fields.
