“Many people who have parosmia struggle to share their experience with loved ones and friends. Smells provoke disgust that often defies description. Learning how to be hypervigilant to avoid the offensive experience of some foods becomes second nature, and often the aroma compounds shared by common foods are not obvious (onions and eggs for example). I'd like to illustrate how this works by asking people to join me in a nibble-taste-compare exercise with three common foods. Will you be able to pick out what is similar?
